Armed Forces Day

A celebration to show support by the people of Morecambe, Lancaster and surrounding districts for our Armed Forces.

The day will start with a veterans and cadet parade along Morecambe promenade to the ‘Platform’ area where there will be several veteran stalls and exhibits, Air Force and Army displays and music. Depending on weather conditions it is also hoped to have a sky diving display and possibly a small fly past.

Main event – Morecambe Prom  – 10.30am-5pm, Sat 30 June.

(Please note: Times are approximate and may be changed because of weather conditions *If wet weather, Drumhead Service will be held in The Platform)

1100 Parade marches off

1110 Parade halts – Dedication of ‘Lest We Forget’ and ‘RAF 100’ flowerbeds

1125 Parade marches on to Arena Area

1130 Drumhead Service – ALL WELCOME

1150 Armed Services Vote of Thanks and Member of Armed Services Response of Thanks

1200 Exhibits, stalls and activities open – The Platform

1400 Air Display by classic RAF Trainer aircraft

1530 Skydiving display onto South Beach

1545 ‘Heroes’ raffle draw at The Platform

1600 AFD closes.
