Morecambe Vintage Bus Running Day

The Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust is a registered charity based in Lancashire whose central aim is to preserve the heritage of Ribble Motor Services, one of the UK’s largest and most popular bus companies from its formation in 1919 until the 1980’s when it began to lose its distinctive identity. Their activities are primarily focused on the preservation, restoration and, where possible, operation of buses which operated for Ribble group companies in earlier years. It is their firm conviction that this heritage can be best enjoyed by providing opportunities for members of the public to travel on the buses and experience an earlier era of public transport.

There will be two major events at Morecambe and Lytham Hall. The Morecambe event will again be based at the Globe Arena (Morecambe FC) with an additional display on the promenade. The date for Morecambe is Sunday May 24th.
Free bus services will run from the ground to Heysham and Carnforth as well as the popular Bare Circular which is worked by older buses. Sales stalls will be located upstairs at the stadium which will also offer a range of refreshments. As well as almost every bus from their collection, they will also have a number of guest buses for both display and service.

The event at Lytham Hall will take place on the 19th July.
