Cross Bay Walks

Cross Bay Walks – only to be attempted with an experienced guide – are the perfect way to enjoy the stunning views and changing patterns of the bay. These 8-mile or so walks across undulating sands allow you to experience the expansiveness of this unique landscape.

Salt Ayre Leisure Centre

Come on down to Salt Ayre Leisure Centre to try out the various exciting leisure facilities including a 25m swimming pool plus learner pools, fantastic X-Height climbing wall or, for adrenalin junkies, there is Gravity, a fantastic multi-level flight tower with six possible descent options including a zip line and 19.5 metre free fall. Plus check out the wonderful relaxing Spa and Beauty facilities for a perfect pamper afterwards.

 

Lancashire Coastal Way

The Coastal Way encompasses estuaries and saltmarshes, limestone scenery and seaside resorts, and follows the distinctive coastline from Merseyside to Cumbria.

Follow this route and glimpse evidence of the industries which have thrived alongside the coast for hundreds of years, plus the wildlife which calls this unique habitat home.

Challenging in places, this route is rewarding and exhilarating.

 

Way of the Roses

A challenging but beautiful cycle route traversing the breadth of the county from Morecambe to Bridlington and taking in the quieter roads or traffic-free paths where possible.

Cycle the diverse landscapes of Lancashire and Yorkshire and visit the historic cities of Lancaster and York.

Stop for refreshments or overnight in welcoming towns and villages such as Settle, Pateley Bridge and Ripon.

 

Bay Cycle Way

From the south-west coast of Cumbria to Glasson Dock near Lancaster, this cycle route takes in beautiful scenery and popular attractions following quiet roads and traffic-free routes. With ‘a loo, a brew and a view every 10 miles’ this route is a fantastic introduction to long-distance cycling!
