Grange-over-Sands

Grange-over-Sands is a quiet and picturesque resort on the Cartmel peninsula. With its stunning wide-open views across the bay towards Morecambe, this is the perfect place for enjoying a stroll through the parks and along the promenade, taking in the sea air.

Its large and elegant Edwardian buildings were a result of the Furness railway being built in 1887 – before that the main route to Grange was across the challenging sands of the bay itself!

Many freshwater birds reside in the graceful parks and gardens, and the seafront is home to many species of wading and sea birds.

Grange boasts a good number of independent and boutique gift shops, plus some excellent cafes and pubs for a stop-off at the end of the day!
