The Heron is a small theatre housed in a listed building in Beetham village on the southern fringe of the Lake District. It was originally one of the old two-room grammar schools of the 18th Century.

The theatre, officially opened by H.R.H Princess Alexandra in 2001, runs a regular fortnightly programme of plays, revues, lectures and musical events, all open to the public.
